The Scientist by Elsie Elder

Hey everyone!

Today I want to tell you about a new, exciting and beautiful young adult novel on the market. It's called The Scientist and is by the fantastic Elsie Elder, who is a dedicated and inspiring writer. This book is currently available to buy on Amazon.com and will shortly be available on Amazon.co.uk too.

So, on to The Scientist! Let's jump straight in to the synopsis:

"The Scientist is a story following Grace Fletcher, a sheltered, seventeen year old girl who has had the same three friends since before she could remember. Her reliance on her friends gives her a fierce opposition to letting anyone be alone, which becomes dangerous as her attempts to befriend Matt: a shy, lonely boy implicates both herself and her closest friends in the massacre that he orchestrates.

After suffering through the shooting, and losing Lucas: the boy she has fallen in love with, Grace must now attempt to forgive her oldest friends, herself, and the boy behind the gun. But having made so many fatal mistakes that day, and after failing to give Matt hope before it was too late, forgiveness seems like an impossible task.

A task that Grace insists upon undertaking: creating a pact with her remaining friends, Mary, Dominic and Tom that forces them to lean on each other when the weight of loss, divorce, and leaving the island appears to be too much."

This novel is addictive, engaging, funny, atmospheric and overall a really unique, interesting YA story. It has light and dark and beauty and horror and I'm just so excited for Elsie that she's published it.

I feel extremely lucky to call Elsie a friend not only because of everything fun, happy and lovely that comes with having an amazing friend but also because she is wonderfully creative! It has been pleasure to read through her drafts of The Scientist, as she's worked on it and developed it in and her work has paid of as it is an incredible novel. Elsie's faith in her stories inspires me to have faith in my own and her hard work also inspires me to... yeah... do stuff. So, yeah, as you can see I have MUCH love for Elsie.

To keep you in the loop, here is the facebook page and the twitter page for The Scientist. You can download it on to your kindle from Amazon.com and you can also get a hard copy here. It's a truly amazing novel so I really hope you check it out. It's very easy to read and definitely worth your time.

P.S. Also, Elsie has literally just set up a new blog for everything to do with her writing which includes The Scientist and the new mystery (ooooo) novel, which she is currently working on.
